Hi, I'm an Apple/Safari/iPhoto user. Normally, my time using Picnik looks like this: Upload a file to Picnik from a "modified" folder in iPhoto, edit the photo, then save back to the "modified" folder in iPhoto to replace the existing file. 95% of the time, I have no problems doing this. Lately, however, there have been a few times when I edited and saved the photo but when I looked at it later in iPhoto, it was exactly the same, unedited version as before. So, I would go back to Picnik and look at my history. The history would show that the photo had indeed been edited and saved to my computer.
A bit of searching found that these errant saved downloads were replacing files with completely different file numbers (albeit in the same folder). And, instead of using the number of the file I was working with, it was the number of the file that had randomly been replaced. Does that make sense? For example, let's say I edited and saved IMG_0001. When the edited photo didn't show up in iPhoto, I typed "IMG_0001" into my "Finder" and it only came up with the unedited IMG_0001 file. So where did it go? I would later find that IMG_0250 had become the missing photo. Thank goodness I save my photos to a "modified" folder where I can revert back to the original file, but I'm scared that sooner or later I might replace an original file. Plus, I have to go back and re-edit the file that's been unintentionally replaced.
It would seem that Picnik is occasionally changing the file name/number to another file in the same folder . For the sake of expediency, I usually don't double check that number. I just make sure I'm saving it to the correct folder because, until recently, I've never had a problem like this. Have you heard of anyone else having this problem? Any ideas why it might be occurring?
